Mechanical Design
The outside
The standard range of pbq NiCad cells is made around two different mechanical versions:
- Consumer top, with a protruding plus-pole for placement in most applications that require user-exchangeability of the cells. Several models are available in both bulk packs and on blister cards.
- Flat- or industrial top, this battery has a flat surface on the positive side of the battery for easier assembly into battery packs. These cells are delivered in bulk packs.
The inside
NiCad cells are spiral wound cells resembling a 'jellyroll'. This results in a large area of active materials and a strong mechanical construction.
