About the pbq Li-SOCl2 Cells

3 different Li-SOCl2 cells are available from pbq:

The bobbin cells offer a very high volume to capacity ratio for low to medium discharge rates while the spiral wound versions are able to provide high currents due to their larger surface area.

All pbq Lithium cells are manufactured under ISO 9001 conditions and use first grade materials only. All pbq Lithium cells are laser welded for highest mechanical strength and to prevent any reaction with moisture from the outside. This ensures an long shelf live and very low self-discharge.

Disposal:
Please dispose of used Lithium cells in accordance to the local regulations with regards to small chemical waste and/or batteries. Pack used cells individually in isolating (plastic) bags to prevent short circuits in the waste container.

Assembly:
When assembling battery packs please use parallel gap spot welding equipment only. These devices generate relatively little heat and are recommended over soldering. When connecting cells in parallel, it is recommended to use blocking diodes. Should you have any questions, please refer to your pbq Distribution Partner for more advice.

Precautions for use:
It is best to design your application such that a warning is generated when a voltage of 2 Volt is reached. Further (forced) discharge might result in a thermal runaway and rupture of the cells. Remove discharged cells from the application. Do not mix new and used cells

Connections:
This cells is available with the following connections:

  • Raised top - No product code suffix
  • Axial wires - product code suffix: AX
  • Solder pins - product code suffix: ST
  • Connector - product code suffix: P, Please clearly specify the connector type, manufacturer and connector lay-out requested.
