Now available: powerful GEL batteries
The pbq gamma has been extended with three types of GEL batteries, namely the following models: pbq33-12GEL, pbq40-12GEL and pbq60-12GEL; 12V batteries with capacities of respectively 33, 40 and 60Ah.
The pbq gel batteries are VRLA batteries with a gelled electrolyte; the sulphuric acid is mixed with silica fume, which makes the resulting mass gel-like and immobile. This process decreases significantly the evaporation of hydrogen and the gelled electrolyte will also not stratify, which makes equalization charging redundant.
Gel batteries are best used in VERY DEEP cycle applications like wheelchairs, golf trolleys and solar installations and may last a bit longer under hot weather circumstances. The recharge voltage on this type of battery is lower than the other styles of lead acid batteries.
We have lift-off!The demand for pbq Lithium primary cells is increasing considerably
Especially the Li-SOCl2 models ER14505, ER14250, ER26500 and the ER34615 are very popular; together with the Li-MnO2 types CR14505 and CR26500. The reason for the increase in market share in this segment is found in the strong price/quality ratio of the pbq product. The current economic situation forces R&D -and purchase departments to search for more economical alternatives, without giving in on the performance of their applications and pbq has the proper solutions for that quest. Correct charging makes the difference

During the last year pbq noted the Lithium small portable battery gamma to get more and more popular. This range is often used in critical applications and equipment. It is therefore well known in the medical sector, in the mining- and oil industry, in the military and in the security branch.
On February 1st the pbq 230-12LL has been released for sales. This long life battery has a capacity of 230Ah and a nominal voltage of 12Volt.
In a country such as China where economic growth is unprecedented, the demand for energy increases daily. It will continue to increase in the coming years; coal-fired power stations do not offer a future-proof solution for this demand. For this reason, China is investing in wind energy on a large scale. Unitron in Zeeland, the Netherlands, supplies all of the control equipment for the innovative direct-drive wind turbines made by Hunan Hara XEMC Windpower. This equipment guarantees not only constant 'power' and reliable supply to the grid, but also protects the turbines with various emergency circuits. In the event of a power failure, the emergency functions are powered by pbq battery packs made by Power Storage Europe BV in Haarlem.
